Your Stay At Havisham House

Every guest is personally welcomed into my home on arrival.

Whether you are visiting Woburn for a short break, spending time with family and friends, attending a local event or travelling for work, I hope you will feel completely at home throughout your stay.

Havisham House is my home, and I enjoy sharing it with guests who appreciate the comfort, warmth and character of staying in a lived-in period house.

Havisham House has been my home since 2016, and I take great pride in creating a peaceful, comfortable and memorable stay, where genuine hospitality and thoughtful attention to detail are at the heart of every visit.

I hope you will enjoy the unique character of the house, its beautiful surroundings and the pleasure of staying in a welcoming private home.

My name is Adam and I am your host. My mother, Erica, also helps me welcome guests, and together we hope your visit will be relaxing, enjoyable and memorable from the moment you arrive.

Havisham House is very much a lived-in period home. Throughout the house you will find my own furniture, original artwork, books and treasured collections gathered over many years, giving every room its own warmth, character and sense of home. Many guests tell me that what makes Havisham House so special is the feeling of staying in a genuine private home, where comfort, warmth and character come naturally.

Great Expectations

The inspiration for Havisham House comes from Charles Dickens' Great Expectations, and that spirit is reflected throughout my home.

Quite simply, I hope you arrive with great expectations... and leave feeling they have been fulfilled.

Whether it is the comfort of your room, the warmth of your welcome, the character of my home, or the enjoyment of your time in Woburn, I hope your stay is relaxing, memorable and genuinely enjoyable.

If there is anything either Erica or I can do to make your visit even more comfortable, please do not hesitate to ask. It will always be a pleasure to help.

Thank you for choosing to stay in my home. Erica and I look forward to welcoming you to Havisham House and hope you leave with wonderful memories of your time spent

A Home with History

Originally an ale house dating from the Victorian era, Havisham House has long been part of Woburn's rich history.

Over the years I have made Havisham House my home, carefully restoring and decorating it while preserving the original character and period features that make it such a special place to live.

One of its most distinctive original features is the beautiful exposed Victorian brick archway in the lower ground floor sitting room, adding warmth and character to one of the house's most welcoming spaces.

Arranged over four floors, the house combines its original architectural features with the comfort and warmth of a much-loved home, reflecting my own personal style while respecting the building's history.

My Passion for Interior Design

Interior design has been a lifelong passion, and creating welcoming, beautifully lived-in homes has always brought me enormous enjoyment. I have always loved mixing antiques with contemporary pieces and quirky decorative objects, combining colour, texture and carefully chosen furnishings to create interiors that feel elegant, comfortable and full of personality.

The style of Havisham House has evolved naturally over many years, reflecting my own taste and the pleasure I have found in collecting artwork, unusual objects and carefully chosen furnishings. Every room has been thoughtfully arranged to feel individual, creating a welcoming and relaxing environment with its own distinctive style and character.

Many guests have commented on the warmth, comfort and distinctive character of Havisham House, often expressing their preference for staying in a genuine private home where every room reflects the owner's personality and lifelong passion for interior design, rather than the more uniform feel of larger hotel-style accommodation.

It gives me great pleasure to share my home with guests who appreciate thoughtful design, individual character and the relaxed atmosphere that can only be found in a genuinely lived-in home.

Shared Spaces in My Home

As my guest, I hope you will quickly feel at home. You are welcome to make yourself comfortable in the shared sitting room and dining room, where you can relax and enjoy the comfort, warmth and character of my home.

Complimentary Wi-Fi is available throughout Havisham House

My Award-Winning Garden

Guests are warmly invited to enjoy my award-winning garden, which I have lovingly cared for and developed over the years and continue to maintain with great pride throughout the seasons.

It is a peaceful place to sit with a morning coffee, enjoy a good book or simply relax while listening to the birds and taking in the tranquil surroundings.

The Dickens Room also enjoys lovely views across the garden from its charming Juliette balcony.

I hope you enjoy your time in Woburn, with its rich history, beautiful surroundings and many local attractions. Please scroll down to discover more about Woburn Village and some of the places to visit during your stay.
